When Olivier Laurent, editor of Time magazine's Lightbox, told me he had an idea for a 10(X) book, based on "found" selfies, I was immediately intrigued. He has a collection of hundreds of photos,"harvested" from iPhones that are used for display purposes in stores. I was amazed at the things that people leave behind as markers of their presence, a very 21st century version of the World War II grafitti, "Kilroy was here" --easily the grandfather of all memes. I like to think this economical10(X) edit captures something of the breadth and humor of his collection and all that it says about who we are today.
